A local charity are seeking new volunteers to help deliver essentials to those experiencing homelessness and vulnerable housing.

The Botley Bikers, one of the projects run by Food for Charities, are a group of cyclists who go into the community to deliver food and toiletries every week - all from the back of their bikes.

The cyclists go out every Thursday 4pm to 6pm and every Sunday 3pm to 5pm, rain or shine.

On the first and third Tuesday of the month, 4.30pm to 6pm, they also go to St. Giles with a car full of clothes and food that people can take for free.

"For the Thursday and Sunday bicycle sessions, you’ll also need to be able to cycle.

"For the Tuesday car sessions, only the sense of humour is required."

Jackie Teh, who has been volunteering for over a year, said: "One of the beauties of volunteering is that it is very flexible, so that makes it perfect if you work or have family commitments."
