An Oxfordshire driver was oblivious that they were driving a stolen van as police hunted down the vehicle.

The incident took place on Thursday, March 28, after the van had been reported stolen on Monday, March 25.

Thames Valley Police caught the vehicle near Bicester just three days after officers were initially made aware that it was missing.

The force took to social media to relay the news and share a photograph of the vehicle in question as well as a police car close by.

A spokesperson for the Thames Valley Police’s Roads Policing Unit said on Facebook: “With thanks to our Roads Policing Colleagues PC Uren was able to stop this stolen van near Bicester, Oxfordshire.

“It had been reported stolen on the 25/03/24. The driver was an innocent party.”
