Miss Oxford bows out of competition
 |
| Lyndsay Fayle |
Miss Oxford missed out on a prize at this weekend's Miss England competition.
Lyndsay Fayle, who was selected to represent the city by Oxford Mail readers, finished out of the top three in the 50-strong field.
However, she was shortlisted in the top 10 for the Pretty Polly Lovely Legs round.
Competition organiser Angie Beasley said: "Miss Oxford certainly has a great pair of legs."
Miss Derby took the overall crown, with size-16 Miss Surrey and Miss Norwich in silver and bronze positions respectively.

So what were the sizes of the First & Third places? Why do the media insist on making such a big deal about Miss Surrey not being a scrawny stick insect?

Perhaps the competition was about the winner having a great body overall.
Miss Oxford didn't bow out, but was kicked out as not good enough to be winner; period.

Bows out?
Don't you mean....didn't win?
It's like saying England bowed out of Euro 2008!!!

I agree with anon from Oxfordshire, what difference does it make what size you are? Why was Miss Surrey singled out with the comment on her size? When are the narrow minded tunnel visioned people of this world going to realise that being bigger than a size 0 is NORMAL? I hope Miss Surrey goes on to win the contest which would be a poke in the eye for all the bone bags out there who need to get themselves a decent meal!

THE ONLY REASON WHY THE LOVELY MISS OXFORD DID NOT DO WELL IS THAT SHE WAS TOO VIRTUOUS TO SLEEP WITH THE JUDGES UNLIKE SOME OF THE OTHER CONTESTANTS

The whole Miss England contest is a fix, it's about who can suck up to the judges the most. The winner Laura Coleman is friends with most of the judges, so ofcourse they were going to pick her to be the winner!

The miss oxford judges picked her because they obviously thought she would represent Oxford well. She may not be the prettiest but she did her best and no one can ask more of someone than that

i cant believe these comments i have read,i personally feel they are discrasful, i know Lyndsay very well and although she did not win she did not expect to, but least she can say she has competed in 'Miss England' which is an acievement and she had lots of fun. Lyndsay is one of the kindest people you will ever meet and she is stunning on top of that!!! get over it, she won Miss Oxford thats amazing!!
